 ABI Research가 최근 발표한 보고서에 따르면 모바일 소셜 커뮤니티가 현재는 5천만명 정도이지만, 2011년에는 1억7천만명에 이를 것으로 예측하고 있습니다.

"The rapid rise of online social communities - gathering places such as MySpace and Facebook - has done more than bring the 'pen pal' concept into the 21st century," says vice president of research Clint Wheelock. "It has created a new paradigm for personal networking. In a logical progression, many social communities are now based on the mobile phone and other portable wireless devices instead of (or as well as) the PC. Such mobile social communities extend the reach of electronic social interaction to millions of people who don't have regular or easy access to computers."

최근 모바일에서의 SNS 응용과 시장 가능성에 대한 다양한 리포트들이 나오고 있는데, 아직은 정말 조금더 지켜봐야 하지 않을까 생각되네요.

구글이 모바일 시장에 기웃거리고 있다는 것은 오래전부터의 사실이긴 했지만,
그래도 설마 단말 시장에 진출할까 했는데 루머가 사실이 되는군요. 물론 실제 제품이
나오는 순간까지 지켜봐야겠지만 말이죠.

며칠전 가디언에 올라온 기사만 본다면 정말 Orange와 뭔가의 협상이 있기는 하는 것 같습니다.

중국의 화웨이 같은 회사가 OEM도 아닌 방식으로 초저가 단말을 납품한다는 소식에 이어 충격적인 소식이 될 것 같네요. :)

대만의  HTC가 만들어 공급하게 될 구글폰은 애플의 iPod와 유사한 화면 구성으로, Google 소프트웨어가 내장되어 빠르고 쉬운 무선인터넷 사용이 가능할 전망이고, 2008년 이후 출시될 예정이라는데, 구글에서 나오는 단말은 결국 "인터넷과 웹"을 주요 타깃으로 삼을텐데, 어떤 모델을 만들지 정말 기대되네요.

모바일에 대한 전망이 역시 눈길을 끄는 것 같습니다.

Mobile Web may be the big story of 2007 - certainly in China, Korea and Japan; but perhaps even the US and other 'behind the times' places like New Zealand and Australia. Related to this is that online/offline mobile technologies like Smartpox may become more popular in the West (they already are in Asia).

- Mobile will be a bigger development and advertising platform in '07 (jajah mobile etc).

- Also watch for an emerging Webphone market - for example Apple's rumored iPhone and a GooglePhone.

제가 이야기하고 다녔던 모바일 웹 2.0의 모습과 크게 틀린 내용은 없는 것 같네요. :)
